Clyde SPAN Minutes 10-01-2019

The minutes of the Tuesday, October 1, 2019, meeting of SPAN, held at 66 Glasgow Street at
6:30 p.m.

Present: Tom Castellano; Sandi Bastedo; Rose Jeanne Strakal; Hugh Miner; Dave Hickey;
Amber Clingerman; and Kelly Furman

1 Hugh Miner moved and Rose Jeanne Strakal seconded to accept the September minutes.
Motion carried.
2 Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $5676.88.
3 Rose Jeanne reported a membership total of 113.
4 Tour report: There were 29 people on the trip to Alexandria Bay. Next trip will be to the
George Eastman House in Rochester on November 9th, after which there will be a visit to the
Artisan Works.
5 Amber and Kelly are planning a bus trip to Lights on the Lake in Liverpool on January 9,
2020 and a Christmas Shopping trip to Destiny USA on December 7th, 2019. Tickets will be
generated when we know the number of riders.
6 Sandi reported on SOAR activity: On October 19th there will be an Open House at SPAN
Headquarters from 3 to 6 at 66 Glasgow Street. Then a local bus tour titled, “Mystery,
Mischief, and Mayhem” created and narrated by Tom Sawtelle will start at 6:00 p.m. There is
a $5.00 charge to cover the cost of the bus. Tickets are available at the SPAN office.
7 On October23, a program called “A Sweet Night of Painting” will be held at Kee Kee Run
Café from6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 , available at SPAN or SOAR office and includes
Dessert and Drink, all Materials, and a Lesson from a Pro.
8 There was a discussion about the downtown tree removal.
9 It was decided to abandon the Homecoming Alumni event, October 18th, due to the lack of
ticket sales. The big events of the following day should be enough activity.
10 Next meeting is November 5th , 2019.
11 Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
